need to pay 3 months worth of back rent (laid off)..and was looking into rental assistance...b ut lease is not in my name..is it still possible to obtain a one hot deal.
Dear Brooklyn Resident:
If you are not a named tenant with a lease it is unlikely your tenancy may be saved with a one-shot deal. But you could try since obviously the landlord did use your name in the nonpayment summary proceeding and did use your name in the Rent Demand notice and since you are a named party in a nonpayment case with a judgment entered against you perhaps in your case you may qualify. But no one answering here can give a definite answer.
