You will not be able to have the tickets dismissed on the technicality of your name being spelled incorrectly. That will be easily corrected by the court. As long as you have proof of your insurance reinstatement, you will have a great chance of the infraction being dismissed. I would seriously consider hiring a criminal defense attorney to represent you for the reckless driving charge. This is a class 1 misdemeanor that could carry potential jail time. Experienced attorneys in this area are often familiar with potential defenses that may apply.
Show up with proof that your insurance is back in effect. That should make the insurance charge go away. You might have to pay the court costs, but no conviction and no fun.
As for the reckless driving charge, it’s probably worth getting an attorney. Technically it’s a criminal offense that can give you jail time and a suspended license. These are often defensible cases where the prosecutor has difficulty proving reckless driving beyond a reasonable doubt. Especially where the weather conditions were lousy.
The Virginia Beach Judges usually drop no insurance charges if reinstated such as you have done. A mere accident is not necessarily criminal reckless so you may have some defenses. However, misspelling is not likely a defense and can be corrected.
