I called my agent he said all they really use it for is to run our credit to see what we owe & if we are current on all payments. Would it be okay to authorize him to run our credit report only?
You need to cooperate with your insurance company, however, if the motorcycle wan't really stolen, best to have a criminal lawyer on deck. Avvo has a great lawyer finder tool to locate an attorney.
You need to fully cooperate with your insurance company, or they can deny the claim based on your failure to cooperate. I am assuming the motorcycle was really stolen; if it wasn't, you may be setting yourself up for a criminal insurance fraud charge.
Read the authorization. They may use it for many reasons--like running a VINcheck to see who has it and how they say they got it; to get a copy of current title etc.
