He had gotten 2 continuance for me but ive been outta work for 2 months and just started working again the other day. But I have court on the 16th and wont have the rest of his fee by then. The charges are for marijuana possession only a class A misdemeanor. Do I need to ask for a public defender when I go to court?
Maybe you can work out a payment arrangement with the attorney to avoid this from happening. It may also be possible for the attorney to try to adjourn the case once more to allow you more time to pay.
Hi there, I agree that you should try to discuss with your attorney a possible payment plan. Sometimes all that another person wants is a good faith attempt at making payments. I cannot say time and time again where people come dressed to the nines and with the latest electronic gadgets who say that they cannot pay anything. So, try the payment plan and coming up with SOME payment to show that you are making a good faith attempt. No one likes feeling like they have been used. Good luck.
