My lawyer in Florida has had my settlement check for at least 12 business days. My check hasn't been issued yet. Is this normal?

Agree this isnt a real estate question at all. 12 days is far from unreasonable. Figure the check took 2-4 business days just to clear your lawyer's bank. Then he/she still has to do the numbers for a settlement statement and may have other work to do and cases as well.

This is not a real estate law question; suggest you post on a different forum , perhaps personal injury, you might get better responses. In my 28 years practicing, while a week or so (or three) might be typical, I have seen disbursement checks delayed for weeks, even months. It all depends on the facts and circumstances of the case (of which we are not aware, of course). Suggest that you just ASK YOUR LAWYER when you can expect it, he or she is likely doing some last minute accounting.
Hope this helps.
