We want to sell the home but the lien is a problem i hear. The bank is attempting to work out a settlement. But we thought that since the heloc is in his name, maybe the home being in my name only would facilitate the sale of the home. But it is collateral. So this idea would not work, right?
The only way to release a HELOC is to have it released of record by the HELOC or via a quite title action.
