The only thing you can do is get him a criminal defense lawyer. Use 'find a lawyer' or call the Bar Association for a referral. Make sure you know where he is currently being held, so he can be located.

A lot depends on the status of the case. Has he already been convicted after trial or pled guilty? Or is his case still pending?
If there's a conviction he needs an appellate attorney, other he needs a criminal defense attorney.
