if you do not hear from HR by tomorrow, call them and ask where you stand. Depending on the facts, you seem to have a potential ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) claim if they do not let take time off and reinstate you after you are well. Wait for HR. Call them every day until Thursday and then pick a lawyer from the AVVO list that handle discrimination. Also journal all that has happened and on Thursday I wold call at least two attorneys and find out what they think. You can also talk with the EEOC.
