We were recently made aware that our 4 year old daughter was physically abused in a well known day care center. There was a witness and the center has suspended the individual while DCF investigates, and we have met with the police to pursue pressing assault charges. Are we able to pursue damages to pay for the mental health costs we are paying for? We don't want to chase ambulances for millions here, but want to make sure any needs she has in dealing with this situation are paid for by the corporation or individual who hurt our daughter.
It certainly is reasonable to meet with a local personal injury attorney to discuss the applicable legal rights and recommended courses of action. Most personal injury attorneys will provide you with a free consultation. It is truly unfortunate that your daughter was abused in the very place that should have been a safe haven for her. Good luck with this matter.
