Hi My daughter was on her way to work and was stopped at a red light when a car hit her from behind and did damage to her car and she experienced back and neck pain at the scene and she also had her 7
month old baby in the car with her(in a car seat). The police came and took a report and they called the fire dept paramedics to check the baby because she was instructed not to take the baby out of the car seat. She went to her doctor that day and also took her baby to the pediatrician.
What course of action should she be taking to protect herself from her injuries and babies possible injury (the baby isn't old enough to say if anything is bothering him).
The accident was 2 weeks ago and my daughter only missed 2 days of work but she is a nurse and her neck and back pain is getting worse and she has to help patients up and help lift them and move them.
You know all that can happen in these instances what should she do now to protect herself and her baby?
A concerned Dad
She can get one from any of the 50 states pro hac vice, but in the state where the accident happened best bet
She should find a quality tort or accident lawyer near her and that lawyer will affiliate with a lawyer in the accident state! Two for the price of one! Hope she’s well!
If the person who hit her is from Mass then she can also sue in Mass. If not, then she needs a lawyer licensed to practice in RI, which may be a lawyer whose office is in MA but also licensed to practice in RI. Best wishes.
