My brother took omeprazole from 2012 to 2017 and has kidney disease. What are his legal options?

Depending on the exact dates, the statute of limitations may have expired. This drug is meant to be taken for 14 days. There is medical literature saying that it does not hurt the kidneys, and other literature saying it does.
