we were at a restaurant. my baby was in his chair, the waitress came and left the coffee pot right in front of my baby and he somehow dropped it and the hot coffee burned part of his leg. i had to take him to emergency room and than we got transfered by ambulance to a burn specialist at another hospital. can i take legal action against the restaurant? do i have a good base for a case?
I am sorry to hear about the injuries to your baby, and I hope that the immediate crisis has passed.
Whether you have a good case against the restaurant depends on whether the waitress' conduct was negligent. Putting the coffee pot too close to a baby certainly may fall within that standard. I recommend that you consult with a good personal injury lawyer as soon as your baby's condition has stabilized.
I work with a network of the best personal injury attorneys in Los Angeles, and I would be happy to discuss your case with you. Please contact my office if you would like to do so (no charge and no obligation consult).
