She got a lawsuit against her. Well, I recently had the same situation happen with me. My application was accepted to move in to a brand new apartment, but was later declined because I own a service dog. How much can I file a lawsuit for? Can somebody help me?
These are not questions that can be answered online. The best one can say is that you may have a discrimination argument, but it is impossible to say without looking at the details and learning what the agreement was, what your local rental rules are, and the nature of the property. for example, of other people have pets?
I would recommend consulting an attorney, but you have to ask yourself first: what are my damages? At the end of the day, Civil suits are about ordering people to pay money for doing something wrong, so they only pay to fix what was done wrong. Did you find a new apartment, was this place special in some way for example close to work or school, are there lost deposits or did you give up other rentals because of this? Even if you are right, and it sounds like you have a good argument, I do not see damages worth pursuing.
That being said, only a one on one consultation can answer that for sure.
