My H1-B got approved recently in November 2018. My employer has received I-797C notice. But my attorney never received I-797A notice. He wants me to file I-824 now to get the duplicate approval notice. My question is am i eligible to file I-824 as an applicant to request a duplicate approval notice or it should be filed either by my employer or my attorney?
Your attorney should not have received any of it. The employer's attorney should have.

He wants you to file I-824 and figure out the process? Why can't he assist?
