I have asked a dozen times for help and everyone says hire an attorney... neither of us can afford to pay a thousand dollars per child ( we have two ) to make their dreams of having the father who raised them from the time they were babies until adults be their legal father.
Most jurisdictions have some form of legal assistance to fill it forms. Contact your local courthouse to see if they have similar assistance programs in your area. Otherwise you should find a way to try and afford an attorney. There is always a way.
Contact the San Antonio Bar Association to try and receive a legal aid referral.
You and your husband must file a Petition to Adopt an Adult. If you have the forms and need assistance filling out the form, then you may want to contact the Texas Lawyer Referral Service to find legal assistance in your area that offers free consultation and reduced fees.
You can hire an attorney to help you fill out what you think are the correct forms or help you find the right ones and fill those out. The problem is that what an attorney does is beyond filling out forms. But you can represent yourself and find that out.
