I share custody of my 3 daughters with my mother in law. They live in Dallas Texas and I live in Laredo Texas. I been in deployment in California for 3 months and the day before I fly out to Texas my daughter tell me she has a 18 year old boyfriend and she’s pregnant. I provide for my girls besides the child support and now that’s she’s pregnant do I have to provide more Child support? my daughter refuses to have an Abortion. The boyfriend wants her to keep the pregnancy. What rights to I have as a father?
You won’t pay more support because of a grandchild. The 18 year old should pay child support to his child, your grandchild.
I agree with Ms. Turner. If your question is about your child support obligation to your 16 year old, then my answer is that your obligation does not end until one of the events that ends your obligation in your court order occurs. Those events include turning 18 and graduating from high school, whichever occurs later, and marriage of the child.
