How can a person get his civil court records sealed ? People are judgmental. Even records where you win a civil case can be accessed by companies doing job background checks and used against you for a number of reasons. If one is falsely accused of shoplifting and the case is dropped you still would unfairly have a file. People don't care about the outcome at times but just the charge. What is the procedure to seal or have that file erased and not accessible ?
For a criminal case where the charge was dismissed, you may be eligible to have the record expunged. Contact an attorney practicing in the jurisdiction where the charge was filed to discuss this further.
