I broke my apartment door and now I’m getting kicked out even though I’m paying more than the amount to fix the damages. If I don’t get out he’s calling the cops for destruction of property
No matter what your landlord says if you have a valid lease then the cops will not - cannot - throw you out of an apartment that you have lawfully rented on for damaging your door.
This is a classic "civil matter" and I would be absolutely astonished if the cops told anything other than that your landlord if he calls.
That said your landlord can sue for eviction or try to break your lease and can certainly hold you accountable for damages that you cause to his property but, in the end, these are clearly civil and not criminal matters.
Wishing you luck and hoping that I have been helpful in answering your question.
