Curently I am in L1b visa and it will expire (max out) on sep 2015. But my employer can apply for an extention for 4 months, till Jan 2016. do they can apply fresh L1 for me or will I get only 4 month extension?
Once you reach your 5 year maximum stay, you are entitled to a new 5 year period again only after spending one full year outside the U.S. You should direct your inquiries to your employer's immigration counsel.
The maximum period of time allowed in L-1B status is 5 years. A person who has reached the maximum limit of five years must remain outside the U.S. for twelve months before the U.S. employer can re-apply for them to come to the U.S. as an L-1B intracompany transferee. You should contact your employer's attorney to discuss issues/queries related to your L-1B extension.
