I had been living w my mother last year. In Oct I moved in my own two bedroom apartment. My son , 17 year old sister , my niece , and I are on the lease. In Nov right after I moved in my mother asks if she can stay in my apartment (her lease is up and the person who had agreed to hold a room for rent changed their mind). I told her she could stay a few months to save. Now for the last two months Ive been telling her she needs to find a place. She tells me shes not planning to leave until she wants to on her own time. She only pays 200 for rent. She's really controlling and verbally abusive its driving me crazy. She tell my own son to call me a b word on top off other things. What other options do I have ? Ive thought about calling the cops ..Ive told her will do it but she just threatens to call cps to tell them I smoke weed. Which I do ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS. Can she do that ?
If you have asked her to leave and she refuses you'll need to evict her via the judicial process. The first step is delivering a legally sufficient Notice to Quit.
