Kaiser terminated my family plan on Nov 7th (retroactive to August 31) because I underpaid the August premium by $500.
Kaiser continued to offer our family members medical services through November 7th. Kaiser also accepted our premium payments for September and October. Kaiser also accepted our copays every time we visited their facilities thru Nov 7th. They denied me the right to pay my Nov premium during the first week of Nov.
They recently sent me a bill for $9,000.00 for all the services they provided us after August 31. They charged full cost (not insurance rates) because they considered us uninsured beyond August 31.
Both Kaiser and the Insurance Market place denied our sick family the right to reinstate the policy. They demanded we pay the $9,000 bill as soon as possible if our family want to be insured by Kaiser during the 2020 year.
I am 59 yrs old and my wife is 54 and both of us are currently sick.
