If I have General Liability and Errors and Omissions coverage in the dollar amount required by a company I am looking to work for: Can that company legally deny my insurance company because they say they only accept coverage from 5 companies they approve? Basically attempting to force me to purchase insurance from these companies. I already have insurance and the proper amounts of coverage that I pay for already which legally protects me. Our company is in Illinois and their company is in Florida. (if it matters regarding state laws)
Sounds like you are some kind of broker/rep. None of us could reasonably answer that without looking a the hiring company's policy manual and your engagement agreement.
If this is a deal breaker, one possible out would be for you to agree to buy an umbrella from one of the approved companies and keep your base coverage.
