I'm currently on a medical layoff from the State of MI. I had been asking for my items from my office since Nov. The district manager, held on to my items & wouldn't let me in the office to get them. A week ago I was given my items with a list. I had a bottle of prescription stimulants in my desk. Whoever put my items in the box, took the pill bottle & counted my pills. I called the Union & the union said they never heard of this done before. This director has been retaliating ever since I filed discrimination harassment against her.
I recommend that you contact an employment attorney in your area. As a state of Michigan employee, you may have other civil appeal remedies and timelines that you may have to follow regarding your employment issues in addition to your union. I wish you well.
