It seems like it it is taking 4-5 months to obtain itin (w-7) from IRS. Is it possible to expedite this process somehow?
I believe you posted this question under the NY area as well. The answer is still the same: Generally speaking, no. If it's been more than 6 weeks (or 8 to 10 weeks if you submitted the W-7 between January and April), then you can contact the IRS by telephone to find out the status of your application (as per the instructions to Form W-7). The numbers listed in the W-7 instructions are: 1-800-829-1040 if you are in the United States. If you are outside the United States, call 267-941-1000.

Unfortunately, the IRS is quite busy and you cannot rush it for this purpose. Mr. Atchley has given you superb advice.
