My father passed away in 2006 and left a son. His wife, the child's mother was negligent and he was taken out of her care and placed in state custody. My husband and I filed for guardianship of him since there was no other family that could take him. We have had him in our home for 4 years now and what started as simple disobedience has now turned to total defiance. He has written letters in which he has threatened me and my husband, and continually steals from us. Now it has escalated to stealing his ADHD medicine and selling it and when he ran out, he stole my 8 year old daughters. My husband and I have 4 children and this is affecting them and us. We have tried everything and don't know what else to do.this is a hard decision to make but I have to look at my biological children's welfar
You can have him declared "unruly" and DCS can take custody. You should contact their local office and speak with the folks there. The process itself will go through juvenile court.
