We live in iowa mom lives in Mich. We are going there over 4th of July. Dad has no record.. No domestic nothing. Mom refuses to allow dad any time with 2 ur old without her. She states its not good for her to see dad away from mom. She thinks its better to see them together. She refuses all our attempt to work with her. But expects 800/mo while she lives with her parents and hides income. We can't afford the high retainers
Your question leaves out some important details. Is there a parenting time and custody order in place? I am going to venture a guess that the answer may be no. If there were an order in place, you would ask Friend of the Court to enforce your order. If there is no order in place, you would petition the court for a custody and parenting time order.
Most lawyers in Michigan do not take on family law matters on a pro bono basis. However, most counties have a legal aid office that assists people represent themselves. MI judges are very fair (sometimes overly fair) in dealing with litigants that represent themselves. My advice is to contact legal aid in the county where mom lives and get help petitioning for a parenting time and custody order. Good luck!
