I've wrote a letter to DMV in Sacto. Calif. to see if I could get my drivers license back and I was told I had to take a 18 month class but it's been over 12 years , I want to know if I can have that cleared or have the class shortened to get a license due to the length of time that I haven't had a ticket since back in 1997
The answer is no. DMV won’t give you your license if you are required to take the 18month class until you complete it.
No- you are required to take the 18 month class. There is no way to shorten it. You may have a warrant with court. Check- get an attorney

Why didn't you do the class 12 years ago? Why would it be fair to allow you to be exempt from the class but not others who did what they were supposed to do in a timely matter?
