8 years ago in Southfield, MI I got a ticket for reckless driving and no insurance plus a $1350 bench warrant out on me from the 46th District Court. So this year I want my license back and tired of taking the filthy bus and ordering uber rides, at this time I don't know should I hire a attorney and as for Statue of limitations does it work or no?
The statute of limitations only applies to set forth a time limit within which the government must bring charges from an incident. If you were given a ticket and a warrant was issued at the time this incident occurred, it does not magically disappear after time if you manage to avoid taking care of the issue with the court. You should consult with an attorney in person to see if you have any defenses. It may be possible that the prosecuting agency cannot locate the witnesses necessary to prosecute the case, but in any event, the statute of limitations does not help you.
