My husband is incarcerated at the moment, its been only a week for some serious charges. I got him a attorney and the attorney tells me he would have to sit in county jail for atleast a year or two until anything even happens with his case, I'm trying to figure out if its true or not and how can we get this case to move faster.
That's accurate. Listen to the attorney you hired . If you don't trust the attorney you should seek other counsel
I am certain he/she has a reason for telling you this. There might be extensive discovery to be completed, particularly if there are serious charges. As Attorney Woolf stated, if you don't trust your attorney, seek a second opinion. There are too many unknown factors to provide an intelligent response.
I would also talk to your attorney about credit for the time he is in jail now. If he doesn't bond out, this time should count towards his eventual sentence, if sentenced.
