You did not state if your house is going up for tax foreclosure or if there is just going to be a sale of a tax lien certificate. Therefore, you need to retain the right type of attorney, who will go over your entire financial situation in person and will determine what makes the most financial and legal sense to do. You need to retain experienced an NV mortgage defense foreclosure and bankruptcy counsel. Only a mortgage foreclosure defense and bankruptcy attorney has the expertise to prevent you from having more problems than you can possibly imagine. To properly answer your questions and address your concerns, the best way to handle this is with an in-person consultation with an experienced mortgage foreclosure defense and bankruptcy attorney. Use AVVO's Find a Lawyer tool to select a qualified attorney. Good luck. THIS IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE! YOU NEED TO SPEAK TO AN ATTORNEY WHO IS LICENSED IN YOUR STATE FOR LEGAL ADVICE. This is merely suggestions for you to think about in discussing your situation with the local attorney. Good luck.

It is unlikely you can have the date changed. It may be set by state law. You should get an in-person consultation from a local bankruptcy attorney and maybe a real estate litigation attorney. A bankruptcy can stop any sale of your house for taxes. That way you will now your rights without having to guess.
