I need a certified translation for applying for Marriage Licence in Nebraska and for Adjustment of Status later. Can I ask my Russian friend who is advanced in English to certify it for me and send me a scanned copy of it or is the original certified paper needed for these purposes? Thank you!
The birth certificate must be a certified copy. You should contact the Clerk of the Court that you plan to submit the marriage license application to to find out if you need to have an official translation of the birth certificate as well.
Although I am an attorney practicing law in Nebraska, the answer I provide is for general purposes only and does not establish an attorney-client relationship. If you need legal advice, you should contact an attorney who will discuss with you the specific facts of your case.
Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals.
