I am following the case of Peruta v. Gore regarding CCW rights in the 9th Circuit. The court recently denied a motion to intervene by the State of California in a published decision. Can California appeal this decision either via en banc review or an appeal to the Supreme Court?I don't why this was listed in the Federal Crime categories. It involves a civil appeal.
California can appeal this ruling, but without knowing more about the ruling, it is hard to tell you here if the appeal is for en banc review or otherwise.
It appears you are acting as you own attorney. This is a universally bad idea, even in El Cajon, CA. Abraham Lincoln--the last GREAT republican president--famously quipped: "A man who represents himself has a fool for a client." Don't be a fool. If getting that CCW is really that important to you (I know, El Cajon is rather dangerous), retain an attorney and do to war with Sheriff Gore.
