I have tried to be a Deacon in the Catholic Church. I have been turned down twice solely because of my age by two different Bishops in the Springfield/ Cape Girardeau Dioceses. I am 66 and told the cut off is 60. I feel my civil rights have been violated. I am a veteran in two branches of the military and fought for the rights and freedom of every American. Is there legal action I can take??
The Catholic Church is not the government. They are allowed to discriminate and they often do. Do you know any female priests?
