My husband was detained by ice five months ago he has a lawyer but are doubtful since the two time he has gone for a bond hearing they have retracted for one reason or other now they say he has to wait for the six months since they seeked asylum for him because when he was detained the officer said he had to sign a paper stating he was afraid of returning to his home country or he was going to be put away without seeing a judge or even hiring an attorney and would not be able to speak to his family so he was forced to sign so now we have to wait for his 6 months next month to ask for what they call the Rodriguez but they initially had said Rodriguez was no longer a bond. He has no criminal convictions we have a pending case of domestic violence with myself but are trying to dismiss it since the things said were out of anger he has a lawyer for that but like I said no conviction they took him during our process in court they detained him outside our home they were fallowing him. So my question basically is is that his options or is the lawyer doing something wrong and could have got him out months ago. He has 3 children one is a disabled child all citizens
Have your lawyer clarify for you in easy to understand terms what is going on -- if you are not confident in your lawyer seek a second opinion.
It is best to consult with your retained counsel for case specific inquiries. If looking for a second opinion best to do so in private.
