I received a moving violation on 11/17/2014 for blocking the crosswalk when my light turned red. Lost the ticket, did not receive a court reminder, and was issued a notice of this Assessment on 12/10/2014.
The ticket was apparently for $570 and the assessment for $300.
I tried to pay online about 2 weeks ago but the ticket wasn't available online or on the phone system. It also says they have 30 days to submit the ticket so it might not be in the system - really misleading. What can I do?
Those dates are awfully close together. What can you do? Get yourself down to the traffic court in question ASAP. Ask to have your case sent into court. Tell the judge what happened. Respectfully ask if the judge could set aside the civil assessment.
