This question was previously answered (no unless he is somehow contractually obligated or specific bills) - as I mentioned I have incurred bills for my daughters for travel ball expenses, medical, etc. Does it matter if he claimed one of the girls as a dependent and also claimed the travel ball expenses as a deduction on the taxes?
he is not legally obligated to support children or pay their debtsfor children are not his. I don't know how he deducted travel ball expenses. That might get him in tax trouble if audited. If he is housing and feeding your daughter then that level of support is enough to claim her as a dependent.
