Your doctors restrictions are something you should follow. An employer often will get an IME doctor who has different restrictions which often causes issues with an injured employee. The employer may provide a job that is within the IME doctors restrictions but outside your treating doctors restrictions. In those situations I always recommend to my clients that they should follow their treating doctors restrictions and decline doing something outside of them. This may cause a dispute which requires a work comp judge to decide the restrictions that you should abide by.
