My estranged husband and I had a custody agreement for joint custody before we were married. Now we are sepearated and I filed a protective order, that has a custody schedule in it. Is my original order that was filed before we were married the valid one, or is the one in the protective order valid?
As long as the protective order is in effect then that order trumps the prior order. However, once the protective order expires the prior order will be valid again (unless someone files for a modification and a new order is entered).
