At 18 months my mother repeatedly brought me to the pediatrician telling them something was wrong with my eye. They kept sending me home saying it was allergies. Finally with the demand from my mom and aunt (who is a registered nurse) they discovered it was eye cancer. It was discovered to late for any treatment but eye removal. I now have a left prosthetic eye which has caused emotional problems and few physical limitations. I know it was so long ago but as a minor there was nothing I could do about it.
The statute of limitations on a failure to diagnose case such as yours has long since expired. Once the eye cancer was discovered, the statute of limitations ran two years from the date of the discovery of the injury.
Past the statute of limitations, but a local lawyer can see if any exception applies. Avvo has a great lawyer finder tool to locate an attorney close to your home. Good luck.
