My ex husband took me court asking for child support, judge granted him child support, judge told both attorneys get it prepared by the guild lines, my attorney told me he would contact me with information ( amount pay, where pay it, and so on ) once order completed. Order was signed by both attorneys and judge 12/2015. My lawyer contacted me by phone 3/16/2016 with information I needed to start paying child support. on 3/22/1016, I was served with contemp of court for arrears in child support. I confronted my lawyer, his response was that I was on stand by. He would not say nothing else. There for I fired him.
Yes, to a degree. I cannot say what your attorney did or did not do correctly. I cannot say what the order said, when your obligation to pay started, or when you were in contempt. You were present in court when the judgment happened. You knew you were obligated to pay starting then. If you did not hear form anyone before the start of the next month, you own some of the problem here. Because the obligations here are yours, not anyone else's, and it is only you responsible for making sure you honor them.
get you r new attorney to assist in dropping the hearing and getting you paid current.
