8 y/o kid, parents divorced 6 years back in Iowa. Mother is the primary caregiver, father had twice weekly visitation, hardly saw the kid 5 times in one year. Mother moved to different state in 2013 to ND, now after 4 years, father suddenly filed for modification of custody agreement in Iowa. we tried medication, but, case is going to trial. Is it possible to move the case to ND rather than Iowa, as the Kid is in school in ND for more than 2 years?
Typically after 6 months the jurisdiction can change from state to state. The judges need to have a UCCJEA conference on changing venue.
