About the record being esponged. Only the last offense was in Virginia. I'm from Maryland and moved to Virginia in 2007 to change my life. I got caught up in 2010 and have been a changed person since then. I have some college education and would like to get a part time job. I have 4 fingers amputated on on hand and am disabled but would like to be a little productive.
If you are asking about expungement in Maryland, then you need to direct your question to Maryland lawyers.
Good luck to you.
Unfortunately in Virginia, you cannot expunge a guilty finding from your record. You can petition the governor of Virginia to restore certain rights (i.e. restore political disabilities (right to vote) and restore right to carry a firearm for hunting). An attorney can help you petition the governor to restore some of your rights but the conviction will always stay on your record unless you seek a pardon from the governor and your pardon is granted. If your charge originated in Maryland, you will need to seek advice from a Maryland attorney.
The law regarding exungements of criminal records and/or arrests can differ from state to state. To get a Maryland case expunged, you need to consult with a lawyer in Maryland and you will have to file your petition for expungement in Marylandl.
