I know someone who is currently in a mental health facility. They are in there because they went to rehab to get into a halfway house and were told they would be held for 72 hours then sent. It has been 2 weeks and they refuse to let him speak with a social worker, will not talk to him about his medical plan, and have twice tried to give him medication without his knowledge or consent. One of those medications he has also had a severe adverse effect with about 10 years back. Is this considered malpractice at all?
How do you know any of this? Just wondering since it is unlikely that you were present.
