Is it legal to terminate someone after 30 days of employment due to background check?

Generally yes, you can be terminated. Louisiana is an "At-Will" State. This means you can generally be terminated for any reason unless it was in violation of a state or federal law (such as discrimination), you have an employment contract for a specified length, at which point the terms of the contract would discuss the reasons for cause, or if you were in a position covered by a collective bargaining agreement. But, yes. It is likely legal if those exceptions do not apply.
