I am selling my house, i got a verbal offer on the amount I am asking for we have even signed paperwork on that amount but now they are asking 5k taken off the price or to fix tile in bathroom and the sprinkler system on the little hill in the back of the house. There is only dirt back there no grass. In the meantime we have already offered money on another house. And we already signed paperwork on original amount is this legal
Yes it is legal. You do not have to agree to give the buyer the 5k unless the contract says otherwise. In most cases this is called a request for repairs (the fixing part) and some buyers ask for a credit instead. I would talk to your agent as soon as you can.
Please consult or retain a lawyer for your particular issue.
yes, after signing contracts, buyers often discover needed work during inspections. Everything is then negotiable. Buyer can back out [provided there are typical contingency clauses], ask for reduction. But seller need not agree if willing to let buyer walk.
