I live and work in Las Vegas, NV and I was recently terminated via a voicemail and I wanted to know if that’s legal in th state of Nevada.
There is no Nevada law that prevents an employer from terminating someone via voicemail. Unless you had a contract with your employer that limited the mode in which they could inform you of your termination (highly unlikely), your employer has not violated any law.
Under Nevada law, you are entitled to be paid immediately for all wages you have earned but that are not yet paid to you because your employer terminated you. More on that here: https://nevadalaborlawblog.com/2018/07/20/my-employer-terminated-me-where-is-my-paycheck/
I am only licensed to practice in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Nevada. All answers to questions are simply general information. They are not intended to nor do they create an attorney-client relationship with me or my firm. They also do not create the expectancy of such a relationship with me or my firm. Finally, the answer provided is not legal advice.
