I have placed my mother in an assisted living facility in Florida. She's in a shared room and I'm concerned that there is theft and abuse going on and would like to place a Granny cam in here room to be able to confirm or remove suspection.
Florida is a "two person State" as to recording of conversations. It is illegal to make a recording of oral information without the consent of the other person. However, that statute does not control video information being recorded.
Regardless, the Assisted Living facility may have some provision in their contract further limiting recordings; the violation thereof may cuse "Granny" to get kicked out. If you really believe something is going on, then you may wish to file a police complaint and let them investigate. (or hire a private detective to do so).
