Okay So My Boyfriends Mom (ExBoyfriend Now) Co-Signed On An Apartment For Me. . . .Because I Was Going To School At The Time & Didnt meet Income Requirements . . . We Signed A 1 Year Lease .......A Few Months Into Our Lease I Quit Going 2 School 2 Get My Old Job Back So I Then Was Able 2 Pay My Own Rent . . . . .I Made All Payments On Time & About A Month and A Half Before My Is Up I Get A Lease Renewal On My Door . . .Saying That I Could Either Sign A New Lease for either a 1 Year Lease Or A 6 Month Lease. Or I Had The Option To Do month 2 Month . . . Soo I Quickly Emailed The Front Office Asking Them If I Could Sign A New Lease Without My Co-Signer (Because By That Time Me & Dude Had Already Broken Up & Weren't On Good Terms ) The Nxt Day I Got An Email Back From The Leasing Manager Telling Me If I make 2 1/2 times rent that i could. . .all i had to do was bring in my paystubs . Sooo I Brang Them In but the lady i was emailing with was off that day . . .but the lady took my stubs and said she will give me a call when she comes in . sooo i guess sometime within that time my co signer gose into the office and gives them a 30 day notice . . . .Is She Allowed To Do This ??
I don't think it will matter. If you qualify on your own and the landlord is willing to rent to you without the co-signer on a new lease then 1) the co-signer will be off the lease and 2) you will have a new lease without a co-signer. Talk to the management but it doesn't sound like you have a problem.
