My boyfriend had a warrant for his arrest and was fleeing and was struck with a taser by bounty hunters while he was jumping off my roof. In result to this incident he shattered his knee and now needs surgery. Do we have a case against the bounty hunters?
Bounty hunters have wide leeway as to what force they can use to apprehend a fugitive. According to you your boyfriend was a fleeing fugitive. Unless they used unlawful force I do not think that you have a case. They have a right, because of the warrant, to apprehend and bring him in front of the judge. Your boyfriend should have surrendered and fought his case in court not on your roof.
