I work at a motel. Is it legal to have me work 7 days straight then give one day off and have me work 12 straight days after that? Collectively one day off in a 20 day period.
Unfortunately for you, this isn’t France (where a bakery owned was fined because he worked too many hours). Missouri does not have a law capping hours or work days. If you qualify for overtime you entitled to that pay.
Contrary to the public's perception there are no laws limiting the number of hours or days which a person is scheduled to work. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) does require that you be paid overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a work week but that is the only restriction.
